Witton, Warwickshire
Historical Description
Witton, a hamlet in Aston parish, Warwickshire, on the river Tame, 3 miles N of Birmingham. It has a station on the L. & N.W.R., and a post, money order, and telegraph office under Birmingham. The Birmingham borough cemetery was opened here in 1863, and has two mortuary chapels with lofty spires. The large ammunition works of Messrs Kynoch & Co. are here. There is an unsectarian mission hall.
