Water Orton, Warwickshire

Historical Description

Water Orton, a hamlet and an ecclesiastical parish in Aston parish, Warwickshire, 2½ miles NW of Coleshill, with a station on the M.R., and a post, money order, and telegraph office under Birmingham. There is an ancient bridge across the Tame. The ecclesiastical parish was constituted in 1871. Population, 545. The living is a perpetual curacy in the diocese of Worcester; net value, £250 with residence. The church, erected in 1879, is in the Early English style.
