Stretton under Foss, Warwickshire
Historical Description
Stretton-under-Foss, a village and a township in Monks' Kirby parish, Warwickshire. The village lies on the Fosse Way, half a mile N of Brinklow station on the Trent Valley section of the L. & N.W.R., and 6 miles NW of Rugby. It has a post and telegraph office under Rugby; money order office, Brinklow. Acreage of township, 1231; population, 241. There is a parish council consisting of five members. Newbold Revel is the chief residence. There is a Congregational chapel, founded in 1662.
