Sparkbrook, Warwickshire
Historical Description
Sparkbrook, an ecclesiastical parish in Aston parish, Warwickshire, on the river Cole, 2 miles SW of Birmingham. It has a station jointly with Smallheath on the Warwick and Birmingham section of the L. & N.W.R., and a post, money order, and telegraph office (T.S.O.) under Birmingham. It was constituted in 1867; population, 16,189. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Worcester; gross value, £350 with residence. The church is modern. See BIRMINGHAM.
