Coundon or Counden, Warwickshire
Historical Description
Coundon or Counden, a township in Holy Trinity parish (Coventry), Warwickshire, 1¼ mile NW of Coventry. It has a station on the L. & N.W.R., of the name of Coundon Road. Acreage, 1051; population, 298. The manor was granted by Leofric, Earl of Mercia, to Coventry monastery. Coundon is united with the hamlet of Keresley to form the ecclesiastical parish of Keresley and Coundon. See KERESLEY.
