Historical Description
Birchfield or Birchfield End, a suburb of Birmingham constituted in 1865 an ecclesiastical parish from the civil parish of Handsworth. It is 1 mile from Perry Barr station on the L. & N.W.R., and has a post and money order office (Birchfield Road) under Birmingham, which is the telegraph office. Population, 7429. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Lichfield; net value, £380. Patron, the Bishop of Lichfield. The church was erected in 1865.
