Historical Description
Colgate, an ecclesiastical parish, formed from the civil parishes of Horsham and Lower Beeding, in Sussex. It is 1¼ mile from Faygate station on the L.B. & S.C.R., and 4 miles from Horsham. It has a post and money order office under Horsham; telegraph office, Faygate. Population, 485. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Chichester; value, £160. The church is a small building in the Early English style.
