Stone Street, Surrey

Historical Description

Stone Street, a Roman road in Surrey and Sussex, from Southwark south-south-westward past Streatham, Walton-on-the Hill, Dorking, Ockley, and Bignor to Chichester. Another Stone Street or Stane Street went by Holwood Hill and Tunbridge to Pevensey, another from Canterbury to Lympne, and another from Caistor to Dunwich.
