Sloven, Suffolk

Historical Description

Sloven, a village and a parish in Suffolk, 2½ miles ESE of Brampton station on the Ipswich and Lowestoft section of the G.E.R., and 5 NE of Halesworth. Post town, Wang-ford (R.S.O.); money order and telegraph office, Wangford. Acreage, 806; population, 115. The manor belongs to the Earl of Stradbroke. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Norwich; net value, £62 with residence. The church is a small but ancient building of stone in the Norman style, consisting of chancel, nave, and a western tower.
