Havergate Island, Suffolk

Historical Description

Havergate Island, formerly an extra-parochial tract, now a parish in Suffolk, contiguous to Crouch Harbour, and separated only by a narrow belt of water from the mainland, U mile S from Orford. Acreage, 264; population, 4. The land is sometimes used for grazing purposes, but there is only a boathouse here.
