Dodnash or Dodneis, Suffolk

Historical Description

Dodnash or Dodneis, a place on the south border of Suffolk, 2 miles N of Manningtree. A priory of Black Canons at one time stood here. It was founded by an ancestor of the Duke of Norfolk, and was given at the dissolution to Cardinal Wolsey.
