Wheaton Aston, Staffordshire

Historical Description

Wheaton Aston, a village and a chapelry in Lapley parish, Staffordshire, on the Birmingham and Liverpool Junction Canal, 5 miles W by S of Penkridge. There is a post office under Stafford; money order and telegraph office, Weston-under-Lizard. The church was rebuilt in 1857. There are Congregational and Primitive Methodist chapels, and a reading-room.
