Historical Description
Hamps, The, a stream of Staffordshire. It rises near Upper Elkstone, about 5 miles from the boundaries of Cheshire and Derbyshire, runs south-eastward to a natural tunnel near Canldon, and while still under ground unites with the Manifold.
