Longport, Staffordshire
Historical Description
Longport, a village in Burslem township and parish, Staffordshire, on a branch of the Trent and Mersey Canal, and suburban to Burslem. It has a station on the North Staffordshire railway, a post, money order, and telegraph office under Stoke-upon-Trent, and several wharves on the canal; it carries on the manufacture of earthenware, porcelain, and flint glass, and it contains St Paul's Church.
