Pembroke and Tenby Railway, Pembrokeshire
Historical Description
Pembroke and Tenby Railway, a railway in Pembrokeshire running from Pembroke Dock eastward to Tenby, and thence northwards to Narberth, where it turns eastwards and proceeds to a junction with the G.W.R. at Whitland on the border of Carmarthenshire. The Pembroke to Tenby section was authorised in 1859, is 12 miles long, and was in operation in 1865. The second part was authorised in 1864, is 18 miles long, and was in operation in 1867. In 1870 an extension to Pembroke Dock was authorised. The total length of line now in operation is 42 miles.
