Heyford, Lover, or Heyford-at-Bridge, a parish in Oxfordshire, on the river Cherwell, the Oxford Canal, and the Oxford and Birmingham branch of the G.W.R., on which it has a station, 6 miles WNW from Bicester. It contains the village of Lower Heyford, which has a post and money order office under Banbury. It includes also the hamlet of Caulcott. Acreage, 1764; population, 515. The manor belongs to Corpus Christi College, Oxford. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Oxford; net value, £305 with residence. Patron, Corpus Christi College, Oxford. The church is an ancient building of stone in mixed styles, and consists of nave, aisles, and chancel, with porch and tower. There is a United Methodist chapel in the village, and a Wesleyan chapel at Caulcott. At Caulcott there is an infant school which is supported by the Earl of Jersey.
