Ditchley, Oxfordshire

Historical Description

Ditchley, a hamlet in Spelsbury parish, Oxfordshire, 4½ miles NW of Woodstock. Wilmot, Lord Rochester, was a native. Ditchley Park, the seat of Viscount Dillon, is a fine edifice by Gibbs, contains some old tapestry and interesting pictures, and figures in Sir Walter Scott's novel of " Woodstock."
