Red Barns, Northumberland

Historical Description

Red Barns, a place in the county borough of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Northumberland, half a mile from Newcastle-upon-Tyne railway station. A Roman Catholic chapel was. erected in 1873 at a cost of £15,000; it is a cruciform building consisting of chancel, nave, aisles, transept, and a tower.
