Chollerford, Northumberland

Historical Description

Chollerford, a hamlet in the township of Humshaugh, and a station on the North British railway, in Northumberland, adjacent to the North Tyne, 5 miles NNW of Hexham. A hotel and a lofty bridge over the North Tyne, on the military road from Newcastle, are near here.
