The Leam, Northamptonshire

Historical Description

Leam, The, a river of Northamptonshire and Warwickshire. It rises near the boundary between the counties; runs 2½ miles north-eastward, within Northamptonshire; proceeds 3½ miles northward along the boundary; and flows westward in Warwickshire, past Leamington Hastings, Mar-ton, Honingham, and Leamington, to the Avon, in the eastern vicinity of Warwickshire. Its length of course is about 25 miles, and its chief tributary is the Ichene.
