Shadwell, Norfolk
Historical Description
Shadwell, a hamlet in Rushford parish, Norfolk, on the river Brandon, 1½ mile SE from Rushford. It takes its name from a spring called St Chad's Well, formerly much frequented by pilgrims. Shadwell Court, a mansion in the Domestic Gothic style, is a seat of the Buxton family.
