Historical Description

Dolforwyn, a township in Bettws parish, Montgomeryshire, on the river Severn, 3 miles NE of Newtown. There are remains of a castle built about 1420 on the site of a British camp. The place is associated with the legend of Sabrina, alluded to by Drayton and Milton.
