The Avon or Afon Llwyd, Monmouthshire

Historical Description

Avon, The, or Afon-Llwyd, a river of Monmouthshire. It rises 1½ mile E of Nantyglo, and runs about 16 miles south-south-eastward, past Pont-y-pool, to the Usk at Caer-leon. Most of its valley is traversed by branches of the G.W.R. and L. & N.W.R.
