Rhos-y-Gwalia, a hamlet and an ecclesiastical parish in Llanfor parish, Merionethshire, 1¼ mile NE of Bala, with a post office under Bala (R.S.O.); money order and telegraph office, Bala. The ecclesiastical parish was constituted. in 1856. Population, 303. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of St Asaph; gross value, £119 with residence. Patron, the Bishop of St Asaph. There is a Calvinistic Methodist chapel.
