Haverstock Hill, Middlesex

Historical Description

Haverstock Hill, a metropolitan suburb in St Pancras and Hampstead parishes, Middlesex, The suburb lies immediately N of Primrose Hill, on the M.R., between the L. & N.W.R. and the North London railway, 4 miles NW of St Paul's, and is in the NW suburban postal district. It has undergone much extension, and contains a large number of good houses. Belsize is in the W, and the manor of it belongs by gift of the Brabazons to the Dean and Chapter of Westminster. A tunnel of the L. & N.W.B., 1120 yards long, also a tunnel of the North London railway, are in the vicinity. The Hampstead Vestry Hall is at the top of Haverstock Hill. See also LONDON.
