Elm Grove, Middlesex
Historical Description
Elm Grove, a place in Ealing parish, Middlesex, 6½ miles W of London. It was formerly called Hickes-on-the-Heath, and was the seat of Secretary Turnbull, Bishop Egeton, Lord Kinnaird, and Spencer Perceval. The house was afterwards used as an asylum for insane officers and soldiers of H.M. Indian service, but is now the property of Lord Rothschild.
