Beaumanor, Leicestershire

Historical Description

Beaumanor, a park, a manor, and a liberty in the civil parish of Barrow-upon-Soar, but which is included for ecclesiastical purposes in the parish of Woodhouse St Mary, Leicestershire, 3 miles W of Mount-Sorrel, and 3 S of Loughborough station on the M.R. Beaumanor Park is a fine country seat. The mansion, a splendid building in the Tudor style, was erected in 1847 on the site of the old house, after a design by Railton.
