Stanner Point, Lancashire

Historical Description

Stanner Point, a small headland at the N side of the estuary of the Ribble, in Lancashire. There is a lighthouse here established in 1865, 18 feet above high-water mark, showing a white light visible for 12 miles in clear weather. The light shows 3½ minutes, and is eclipsed half a minute in every 4 minutes.
