Shawforth, a village in Rochdale parish, Lancashire, 4½ miles N of Rochdale, with a station on the L. & Y.R. It has a newsroom, cotton-mills, collieries, a Wesleyan chapel, and a post and money order office under Rochdale; telegraph office, Whitworth.
