Little Crosby, Lancashire
Historical Description
Crosby, Little, a township in Sefton parish, Lancashire, on the coast, 7½ miles NNW of Liverpool. Acreage, 1811 of land and 1126 of foreshore; population, 641. Since 1870 the township has been governed by a local board of six members. Crosby Hall is the seat of the Blundells. At High-town is a station on a branch of the L. & Y.R., and a post, money order, and telegraph office under Liverpool. There is a Roman Catholic chapel erected in 1847, containing memorial windows to members of the Blundell family, and a chapel added in 1886 by Colonel N. Blundell in memory of his son.
