Stour, The, a river of Kent, rising 2¼ miles N of Hythe, running west-north-westward to Ashford, going thence northwestward past Canterbury to Stourmouth, and proceeding thence first eastward, next in a detour past Sandwich to Pegwell Bay near Ebbsfleet. It has a total course of about 40 miles.
