The Hole, Kent
Historical Description
Hole, The, a seat in Rolveuden parish, Kent, 1 mile NW of Rolveuden village. It is a large Tudor mansion, and took its name from ancient owners called Hole. [Hole Haven or Holy Haven, a creek on the S coast of Essex, entering from the Thames, 1½ mile E of Thames Haven, and ascending 4½ miles north-north-westward, past the W end of Canvey Island to the neighbourhood of Pitsea.
