Historical Description
Stanstead, a parish, with Stanstead village and Fairseat hamlet, in Kent, 3 miles from Wrotham station on the L.C. & D.R., and 7 NE of Sevenoaks. Post town, Wrotham. Acreage, 1974; population, 372. There is a parish council consisting of five members. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Canterbury; net value, £300 with residence. Patron, the Archbishop of Canterbury. The church has been restored. Trosley Towers is the chief residence.
