Southend, Kent

Historical Description

Southend, a chapelry in Lewisham parish, Kent, a quarter of a mile from Beckenham Hill station on the L.C. & D.R. Post town, Lewisham, under London, SE. The scenery is picturesque, and the entire locality has undergone rapid improvement, and has some fine residences. The living is a perpetual curacy, annexed to Lewisham, in the diocese of Rochester.
