Ollantigh, Kent

Historical Description

Ollantigh, a seat in the E of Kent, near the river Wye, o½ miles NNE of Ashford. It was built in the time of Henry VIII. by the Kemps, passed to the Thomhills and the Saw-bridges, and was the birthplace of Archbishop Kemp, Bishop Kemp, and Mrs Macauley.
