Lewisheath, Kent

Historical Description

Lewisheath, an ancient manor in Horsmonden parish, Kent, 3 miles NE of Lamberhurst. It belonged in the early part of the 14th century to John de Grofhurst, and was given by him to Bayham Abbey. Its name was then written Leueshothe.
