Leescourt, Kent

Historical Description

Leescourt, a seat in Sheldwiek parish, Kent, 4 miles S of Faversham. It belonged to the family of Atte Lese, one of whom was Sir George the Loyalist; it passed to the Nor-tons, and it now belongs to the Sondes family. The present mansion is in the Grecian style, was erected by Inigo Jones, and stands in a large park.
