Fredville, Kent

Historical Description

Fredville, a seat between Nonington and Barfreston, in Kent, adjacent to the Canterbury and Dover railway, 7½ miles SE of Canterbury. It belonged formerly to the Boys and the Holles families, and belongs now to the PInmptre family. An oak tree in its grounds, extensively known as the Fredville oak, has a girth of 36 feet.
