Historical Description

Beachborough, a seat of the Brockman family, on the SE coast of Kent, 2½ miles NNE of Hythe. A hill adjacent to the mansion commands very extensive views, insomuch that a bonfire on it can be seen from the coast of France, and is crowned by a summer-house, which overlooks the views, and is accessible to strangers.
