Historical Description
Saviour, St, a parish in Jersey, adjacent to the NE side of St Helier, and containing the suburb of Georgetown, and the villages of Five Oaks and Longueville. Post town, Jersey. Acreage, 2296; population, 4166. The suburban portion contains handsome villas and cottages-ornees, and there is a mineral spring. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Winchester; gross value, £270 with residence. Patron, the Crown. The church was built in 1154, and has been restored. The churchyard is ornate and picturesque, and commands a beautiful view of St Helier and St Aubin Bay. St Magloire's Grammar School is here, was founded in 1498, and has a small endowment.
