Ayre, Point of, Isle of Man

Historical Description

Ayre, Point of, the northern extremity of the Isle of Man. A lighthouse stands on it, erected in 1818, with lantern 106 feet above high water, visible at the distance of 15 miles. The Whitestone and Stranakiley sands are adjacent.
