Historical Description

Standen, a manor-house 1½ mile SSE of Newport, Isle of Wight, on the site of a previous house, in which the Princess Cicely, daughter of Edward IV., died, and in which Lord Southampton, governor of the island in the early part of the 17th century, lived.
