Femhill, Isle of Wight
Historical Description
Femhill, a seat in the Isle of Wight, on the Wootton river, 2 miles NE of Newport. It was built by the Hon. T. Orde, afterwards Lord Bolton, shows the characters of Batty Langley Gothic, with a high tower, and stands amid fine grounds, which slope to the river's edge.
