Danebmy, Hampshire

Historical Description

Danebmy, a hill ridge, 3 miles WNW of Stockbridge, in Hants. A strong, double-ditched circular camp is on its summit, at a clump of firs. Some ancient implements,. thought to have been armourer's tools, were found in the camp, and are preserved in Winchester Museum. Some large barrows, one of them called Canute's, are on the adjoining downs.
