Spelter, Glamorgan
Historical Description
Spelter, a district in Llangynwyd parish, Glamorgan, 1 mile N of Maesteg. It has a post office under Maesteg (R.S.O.); money order and telegraph office, Nantyfyllon. The living is annexed to Llangynwyd. The church, dedicated to St Peter, was erected in 1887. In 1895 a church institute was built in close proximity to the church. There are also in the district several Nonconformist chapels.
