Historical Description

Resolven, a township and an ecclesiastical parish in Llantwit-juxta-Neath parish, Glamorgan. The township lies on the river Neath, 6 miles NE of Neath. It has a station on the G.W.R., and a post, money order, and telegraph office under Neath. Acreage, 4671; population, 1685. There is a parish council consisting of eleven members. The ecclesiastical parish was constituted in 1850, and includes the township of Clyne. Population, 1949. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Llandaff; gross value, £60 with residence.
