The Plym, Devon

Historical Description

Plym, The, a river of Devonshire, rising in Dartmoor, at Plym Head, 3 miles E of Sheepstor, and running about 16 south-westward and southward to Plymouth Sound at Plymouth. It is sometimes called the Catwater, and its lower or estuarial reach is generally so called.
