Colyford, Devon
Historical Description
Colyford, a tithing, with a village, in Colyton parish, Devonshire, on the L. & S.W.R., 151 miles from London, and 1 mile S of Colyton. The village stands on a Roman road; probably occupies the site of a Roman station; was once a pleasant place of some note; and has a post office under Axminster, a railway station, a chapel of ease, and a Wesleyan chapel.
