Historical Description
Brownestone, a chapelry, with a village, in Modbury parish, Devonshire, 2 miles from Ivy Bridge station on the G.W.R., and 3 N of Modbury. The living is a perpetual curacy, annexed to the vicarage of Modbury, in the diocese of Exeter. The church is a bad specimen of modern Gothic architecture.
