Bovey Brook or Wrey River, Devon

Historical Description

Bovey Brook or Wrey River, a stream of Devonshire. It rises in Dartmoor Forest, 6 miles SW of Moroton-Hamp-stead, and runs about 18 miles, first north-eastward to the vicinity of Moreton, next south-eastward to the Teign, 4 miles SW of Chudleigh. It traverses much romantic scenery, and is notable for trouting.
